Check About What Infant Potty Training Is

Infant potty training is also known as elimination communication and even natural infant hygiene. Though each term refers to the same practice, which consists of making your baby learn about how to use the toilet and not potty in their pants while they are still very young, which can be any period between birth and up to four months of age. In fact, parents that get started with infant potty training have a habit of dispensing with using diapers and prefer instead to take their babies to the closest toilet as soon as they believe the baby is going to pee or poop. However, some parents do make use of diapers once in a while and so it is really a matter of personal preference.

Radical Way Of Doing Things

In fact, even in as advanced a nation as the U.S., infant potty training is considered rather radical. Though it is not such a new idea because just some five decades ago most parents did in fact start infant potty training before their toddlers had reached the age of eighteen months.

However, in other parts of the world, infant potty training is not so widely known and in regions such as Africa, Asia and even in Europe, babies are usually started out on potty training only after they have reached the age of two years.

There are many advantages to infant potty training though not much scientific data can validate such findings. For one, infant potty training means that the baby and their mothers can bond well together. It is easier on the infant and more comfortable for them as well. In addition, infant potty training allows the baby to become more independent and it also helps in reducing diaper waste, while it is also a natural and normal thing to teach your baby.

However, there are also some disadvantages to infant potty training as well and they include having to spend a lot of time and being very dedicated in order to achieve results, and the baby may not be physically fit for such training. There are also sure to be many goof-ups along the way.

Finally, there is really no way to know for sure whether infant potty training will work in every instance though it could mean needing to change fewer numbers of diapers. But it still won't mean that the baby can do without using diapers entirely.

The bottom line is that infant potty training can work for some and not for others and it can also aid in teaching babies to be potty trained sooner than if you were to wait until the age of two before starting potty training.
